Castlevania Symphony of the Night - Completionist Run

Air Date: December 31, 2017

In this video, I showcase the final saved game where I have maxed out the character’s stats, inventory, money, and accumulated enemy kills. This includes maxing out the attack power of the Muramasa sword by absorbing blood from enemies. I have uncovered all 200.6% of the map, purchased all tactics from the librarian, and filled out all the entries of the enemy list. I took the liberty to continue recording my playing time after the timer maxed out at a minute shy of 100 hours. This endeavor took me 744 hours and 29 minutes to accomplish through conventional means.

I choose to start this run from a replay file allowing me to skip the beginning cinema scenes. This is necessary to provide Alucard with an initial stat boost by speed killing Dracula as Richter in bloodlines introduction stage. The replay mode also lets you get Rings of Varda from the Paranthropus enemies and purchase duplicators from the master librarian.

In the beginning, I chose to go with the option of killing Dracula in under a minute and without being hit and holding the cross sub weapon instead of the holy water. This enabled me to pass on the +5 HP and instead go for the +5 Hearts and Magic. I felt as if the extra hearts and magic would go further than the hit points. This leaves me with the final stats of 4913 for hit points, 421 for hearts, and 520 for magic points. The core statistics for strength, constitution, intelligence, luck are maxed at 99 from some careful level up farming.

The inventory was maxed out through enemy drops, buying items from the librarian, finding all scattered items through the castle, or by farming with the jewel sword. Check out my video on diamond farming to see more details on how I went about getting 99 of this particular item. I also gathered all of the optional items dropped from the master librarian through bouncing his chair from underneath with consecutive high jumps.

I start the video by loading the save file located in the room above the master librarian in the normal castle. Upon arriving at the master librarian, I am able to show that his inventory is unavailable for purchase. I also take the time to leaf through all 146 completed entries of the enemy list that includes all drops obtained for each enemy. I only have the five purchasable spells under my “spell” listing at this point to show that I did not utilize the sword brothers’ glitch for infinite money and gemstones. If I had used this spell, it would have shown up in the list after it was used for the first time. After removing all the items from Alucard, I go through each inventory category to show all the items and their respective maxed quantities before re-equipping. Once I have everything showcased, I exit the room and finish my spell list by obtaining the wolf charge, bat wing bash, and the sword brothers spells.

I journey to the inverted castle next, briefly showing the completed map for that area before heading to Shaft and Dracula to finish the game. I take out the fully levelled Muramasa sword and finish the first battle with Shaft in two hits. For fun, I take on Dracula through a different method involving two Crissingrams. I up my attack and strength by duplicating potions while he is descending from the top of the screen. This adds another 40 points to the increased offense provided by the equipped two Rings of Varda. In a couple seconds of speedy slashing the count is finished without being able to land a single blow and the ending plays through ending the completionist run. I choose to mute the volume for the ending “I am the Wind” song to avoid issues from playing Konami’s copyrighted song.
